This interactive workshop will have participants examine their own state of balance and wellness, consider changes they might make to improve these, and address the impact better balance and wellness could have on their lives as individuals, members of a community or an organization, and leaders. Handouts will be provided for personal reflection and notes, partner and/or small group discussion will be utilized to share information and ideas, and a few yoga postures will be included to help provide analogies appropriate to the content of the workshop. Activities will help provide a mirror for reflecting on the current and desired states of balance and wellness in participants' lives, and will provide tools for effecting change for improving effectiveness and quality of life.

Following a decade of experience working for the North Carolina Outward Bound School as an instructor and course director, facilitating and supervising outdoor adventure programs designed to enhance personal and interpersonal growth, I have been working as a facilitator of challenge, team building, and leadership development programs with college/university and corporate groups for approximately 17 years. For the past four years, I have been working with a team of three other co-instructors to design and deliver team building and leadership courses to undergraduate and graduate students at Gonzaga University. These courses offer opportunities for healthy social interaction, reflecting on one's roles as team member and leader, identifying leadership styles, and understanding group dynamics and team development.
